The Chagos Islanders Movement is a collective of dedicated volunteers committed to reshaping perceptions of Chagossians. We are a group of Chagossians volunteers, standing up against the injustice of the British and US government for the islanders forcibly evicted in 1968 to build an airbase for the US Army, then dumped in the slums of Mauritius and Seychelles.
Since 1968, we have endured let down at the hands of global leaders, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Mauritius, and others, who have made decisions impacting the Chagossian destiny without considering the profound consequences on our lives, futures, generations, and culture.
